| PULAU KEMARO : Legenda Abadi Cinta Sejati |
Pulau kemaro terletak di hilir sungai musi dan luasnya sekitar 5 ha yang merupakan sebuah delta di tengah-tengah sungai musi yang kini menjadi salah satu objek wisata air.
Latar belakang terbentuknya pulau Kemaro yang menjadi tempat ritual yang tersohor sampai ke manca Negara dan bermakna tinggi ini di awali sebuah legenda cinta sejati antara dua bangsa dan budaya besar zaman dahulu.
Kisah ini di mulai dengan Pangeran yang berasal dari Negeri Tiongkok, Tan Bun An ingin melamar Putri Raja Palembang. Siti Fatimah. Sebagaimana tradisi Tiongkok pada masa itu maka Kaisar Tiongkok menirim emas kawin dalam 9 guci yang di dalamnya berisi emas batangan untuk melamar Putri Raja Palembang tersebut dan untuk mngelabuhipara bajak laut dalam perjalanan yang pebuh resiko maka di bagian atas guci di isi dan di lapisi dengan sayur-sayuran.
Pada suatu hari, dalam perjalanan berlayar dari Tiongkok menuju Palembang, Tan Bun An membawa rombongan sampailah di muara Sungai Musi dan ketika tanpa sengaja Sang Pangeran ingin mengetahui apakah isi dari kesembilan guci tersebut yang di berikan Kaisar Tiongkok untuk melamar Sang Putri Siti Fatimah namun setelah membuka salah satu guci tersebut dan betapa terkejutnya setelah mengetahui isi guci tersebut adalah sayur-sayuran dan merasa menjadi malu di hadapan calon mertuanya, akhirnya satu persatu guci tersebut d buang ke dalam Sungai Musi. Akan tetapi ketika gucu terakhir secara tidak sengaja terjatuh dan pecah, dari dalam guci berhamburan emas batangan yang banyak sekali.
Menyadari kekliruannya ini, sang pangeran sangat menyesal dan langsung terjun kedalam sungai untuk mencari kembali guci-guci tersebut besama ajudannya demi melamar sang Putri tercinta. Namun sang Pangeran tidak pernah muncul dari dalam Sungai Musi untuk selama-lamanya.
Melihat orang yang sangat di cintainya tidak muncul dari dasar sungai, akhirnya Siti Fatimah menjadi sangat sedih dan putus asa, lalu dia memutuskan untuk menyusul ke dalam sungai untuk mencari sang Pangeran bersama dayangnya yang setia dan mengatakan bahwa bila dia tidak berhasil menemukan sang Pangeran dan bila suatu saat ada gundukan tanah yang muncul dari dalam dasar sungai ini, maka disanakah kuburan sang Putri Raja.
Akhir dari kisah pencarian ini, ternyata memang benar sang putrid telah menyusul Sang Pangeran untuk selama-lamanya dan lalu munculal gundikan tanah yang sekarang di kenal dengan nama Pulau Kemaro.
Gundukan seperti batu karang yang di tengah adalah makam sang Putri Siti Fatimah, di kiri dan kanan adalah ajudan pangeran negeri Tiongkok dan dayang sang Putri. Pada setiap gundukan terdapat atap dari kayu dan dan diberi batu Nisan bertulisan Huruf Tionghoa berwarna Merah dan terawat dengan baik.
Legenda tersebut di atas adalah salah satu legenda dari Bumi Pertiwi ini yang awalnya tidak saya ketahui. Tapi beruntunglah saya sempat berkunjung ke Palembang dan singgah di Pulau Kemaro dan dapat menambah wawasan saya serta sebagai bahan cerita dan dongeng untuk anak dan cucu saya... Amin
